Voorbij goed en kwaadLaat mij mezelf maar dichter noemen,
dan ben ik wel tevreden op mijn eiland, of waar
ik woon, in mijn hoofd of in het huis
dat mijn groter en sterkere lichaam is en
waar ik mezelf zal zijn tot ik later
van hier de hemel inga. Ik schrijf het meteen
op want het behoort tot de dromen die mij
bewaken dat het ook daar behaaglijk is, daar
achter de omheining van vergetelheid. Mijn pen
krast en roept mij uit de verte terug, ‘als je pas dán
terugblikt op je levensloop en er iets van leren
wil, is het te laat hoor’.
Laat mij mezelf maar dichter noemen want ik hecht
waarde aan deze wereld, al ben ik in wezen niets anders dan
dwaas. Ach, het zijn maar gedachten over troost en beperking,
zó fluister je en ze zijn al weer voorbij.
